Iran sees decrease in load/unload operations in Astara port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 41 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2021), compared to the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 18,500 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the sixth month. Of this, 17,500 tons were loaded and 1,000 tons were unloaded.

About 16,300 tons of cargo were exported and 1,060 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.

Also, 1,070 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 6th month.

According to the statistics, 350 tons of metal products, 11,300 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 67 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 4,590 tons of chemicals, 1,070 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, 119 tons of container products and 1,070 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the sixth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.35 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 2 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
