Passenger transportation through the Ardabil International Airport and Parsabad Moghan Airport in the Ardabil Province (north-western Iran) decreased by 13 percent and 30 percent, respectively, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, a total of 94,973 passengers were transported through Ardabil International Airport in 7 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 109,222 passengers.
The Ardabil International Airport received 1,485 passenger planes over seven months, which is a decrease of 5 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 1,558 passenger planes had been received by the airport in the same period last Iranian year.
In addition, 712 tons of cargo were transported through the Ardabil International Airport during the reporting period. Cargo transportation decreased by 2 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 724 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
“As for passenger transportation through Parsabad Moghan Airport, the number of passengers transported through the airport for the 7 months amounted to 3,655. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, 5,202 passengers had been transported through this airport,” the statistics said.
Within the mentioned period, Parsabad Moghan Airport has received 110 passenger planes. The figure also stood at 110 units in the same period last Iranian year.
According to the statistics, 31.3 tons of cargo were transported through this airport in 7 months. Cargo transportation decreased by 17 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 37.6 tons of cargo had been transported through the airport in the same period last Iranian year.
