Kazakhstan significantly boosts cargo transportation by air

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 17.03 billion tenge ($39.4 million) from January through December 2021, which is 14.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in December 2021 amounted to 1.6 billion tenge ($3.8 million), which is 48.1 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 34,010 tons, which is 40.8 percent more compared to the same period of last year (3,390 tons in December 2021, decrease by 9 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 81.6 million ton-kilometers which is 45.3 percent more than during the same period of last year (11.7 million in December 2021, an increase of 55.7 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 349.2 billion tenge ($808.5 million) from January through December 2021, which is 82.3 percent more than during the same period of last year. December revenue from passenger transportation was 31.4 billion tenge ($72.9 million), which is 74.4 percent more than in December 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 9.4 million people, which is 71.8 percent more than during the same period of last year (843,890 passengers in December 2021, up by 55.4 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 14.8 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 77.8 percent. The December passenger turnover was 1.2 billion (69.1 percent more year-on-year).
