Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 1.1 billion tenge ($2.3 million) from January through February 2022, which is 73.6 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in February 2022 amounted to 649.5 million tenge ($1.3 million), which is 67.7 percent less than during the same month of 2021.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 2,730 tons, which is 32.1 percent less compared to the same period of last year (1,580 tons in February 2022, decrease by 0.6 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 5.7 million ton-kilometers which is 31.9 percent less than during the same period of last year (3.2 million in February 2022, an increase of 6.4 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 47.1 billion tenge ($95.5 million) from January through February 2022, which is 21.2 percent more than during the same period of last year. February revenue from passenger transportation was 26.7 billion tenge ($54.2 million), which is 39.6 percent more than in February 2021.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 1.1 million people, which is 0.7 percent less than during the same period of last year (618,950 passengers in February 2022, up by 10.2 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 1.8 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 10.9 percent. The February passenger turnover was 993.8 million (21.6 percent more year-on-year).
