BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 16. Cargo transit through the Anzali Port of Iran’s Gilan Province in the north of the country, increased by 358 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Gilan Province’s Ports and Maritime Department Hossein Younesi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
The director general noted that a total of 72,300 tons of cargo were transited through the Anzali port in 7 months.
“This figure was about 15,800 tons in the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
According to Younesi, in addition, 4,892 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded in Anzali port in 7 months, which is a 61-percent increase compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure stood at 3,031 TEU containers in the same period of last Iranian year.
The official also pointed out that about 54,800 tons of mining products were unloaded in Anzali port in 7 months, which is a 20-fold increase compared to the same period last Iranian year. As well as, about 16,900 tons of mining products were loaded in the mentioned period for the reporting period. This is an increase of 61 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
