BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by about 70 percent, in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 11,071 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 7th month. Of this, about 7,769 tons were loaded and 3,302 tons were unloaded.

Some 7,604 tons of cargo were exported and 3,302 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.

In addition, 165 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 7th month.

About 1,426 tons of essential products, 279 tons of metal products, and 4,779 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 58 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 2,111 tons of chemicals, 1,891 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 74 tons of small and assorted goods, and 453 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 11.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 7th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.66 million tons were loaded and 5.94 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
