BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 6.9 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Overall, 6.03 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 9th month. Of this, 3.62 million tons were loaded and 2.41 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, about 3.12 million tons of cargo were exported, and about 632,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 9th month.
Also, 163,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 319,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month. Furthermore, 238,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 1.34 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 9th month.
Within the 9th month, about 105,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 88,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 1,950 tons of cargo were loaded, and 37,400 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 110,000 tons of essential products, about 722,000 tons of metal products, 1.16 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 4,370 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 185,000 tons of chemicals, 6,050 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 24,000 tons of small and assorted products, about 1.5 million tons of container products, and 2.32 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
