BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 56 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), more than 315,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port in the 3rd month. Of that, 236,000 tons were loaded and 79,100 tons were unloaded.
Some 226,000 tons of cargo were exported and 4,680 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port for the reporting month.
Also, 2,140 tons of cargo were loaded and 40,600 tons were unloaded at this port for transit, as well as 7,340 tons were loaded and 46 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the 3rd month.
Furthermore, 766 tons of cargo were loaded and nearly 33,800 tons were unloaded at this port for other purposes.
Some 129,000 tons of essential products, 369 tons of metal products, 110,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 40,000 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 279 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Bandar Lengeh port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 1,390 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 1 tons of small and assorted goods, 33,800 tons of container products, and 148 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.
In total, about 13.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of that, 5.55 million tons were loaded and 7.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
