BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Chabahar port in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 36.5 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), circa 419,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 3rd month. Of this amount, 58,700 tons were loaded and 360,000 tons were unloaded.
Also, 56,600 tons of cargo were exported and 243,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month. At the same time, 2,830 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for transit.
Furthermore, approximately 115,000 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for cabotage, as well as 2,010 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 3rd month.
Nearly 213,000 tons of essential products, 5,250 tons of metal products, 56,600 tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,590 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 948 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 26,400 tons of container products, and 113,000 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at this port within the mentioned month.
In total, about 13.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of that, 5.55 million tons were loaded and 7.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
