BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The construction of the Aghdam-Fuzuli highway in Azerbaijan continues at an accelerated pace, Trend reports.
The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads said that the 64.8 km long and 15 m wide highway will have four lanes and is being constructed in accordance with the 1st technical grade.
The ongoing excavation work on the highway includes the removal of unsuitable soil and the widening of the roadbed.
Besides, construction of culverts of various sizes, water drains to ensure water transfer, and, where necessary, reserve crossings for underground and communication lines is also underway.
The agency noted that the design of five bridges and two overpasses on the highway has been completed, while construction of the remaining bridges and overpasses continues.
The sections where the road base construction has been completed are paved with asphalt concrete.
The Aghdam-Fuzuli highway, whose foundation was laid in October 2021, is a continuation of the Barda-Aghdam highway and passes through the territory of Aghdam, Aghjabadi, and Fuzuli districts.
