BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. Cargo shipment from the southern Iranian province of Fars to other parts of the country grew by 11 percent in the first eleven months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), compared to the same period last Iranian year, head of the road and transport department of Fars province, Mohsen Emadi, Trend reports.
Emadi said that over 32 million tons of various goods were transported from Fars Province in 11 months.
The official added that cement, urea, gasoline, tomatoes, sponge iron, heat-resistant soil, diesel, and steel ingots, were the main transported items from Fars province during this period.
Fars Province, located in Iran’s south, has 290 companies that provide cargo transportation services within the province and to other parts of the country. Iran has a total of 548,000 drivers and 426,000 trucks that are engaged in this sector.
