The Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications held a meeting over the large number of flight delays that occurred last week, the ministry said.
"According to the Civil Aviation Committee's analysis on delays at the airports of Astana and Almaty, around 194 flights of Air Astana and Scat airlines were delayed last week," the ministry said. "The main reason was the bad weather conditions in the cities of Almaty, Aktobe and Urumqi which led to delays on other routes."
According to the information, the airlines were informed about their shortcomings. In this regard, they were instructed to improve their work.
'The air carriers were instructed to examine the issue of cooperation with other airlines, particularly foreign partners in the field of civil aviation, passenger transportation on interline -agreements', the message said. 'This system makes it possible to transport passengers of one airline by transferring to another airline'.
Airlines must focus on giving early information to passengers and creating all the necessary backup in case of flight delays.
