Dariga Nazarbayeva, daughter of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, and a member of the Kazakh Senate, has said the rumors that she is going to succeed her father as the president are speculations, RIA Novosti reports.
“I see myself as a person who truly and faithfully serves to motherland, and as a member of our president’s team. This entire guessing is just a speculation,” Nazarbayeva told reporters.
On Friday, the Senate members voted to appoint Nazarbayeva as the chairman of the Senate Committee for Foreign Relations, Defense and Security.
Dariga Nazarbayeva earlier served as vice prime minister.
