Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin stressed the positive dynamics of the implementation of investment projects in all districts this year, Trend reports referring to a correspondent of Kazinform agency.

“Some 266 investment projects of the agroindustrial complex worth 239 billion tenge ($548 million), including 36 dairy farms, 27 projects on the processing of crops, six meat processing plants, 13 poultry farms, have already been implemented,” the prime minister said at the governmental meeting.

Mamin added that the import dependence has been reduced by 15 percent for the year due to the implementation of these projects.

“Domestic production of dairy products increased from 51.4 percent to 70 percent,” the prime minister said. “Domestic production of sausages increased from 60.5 percent to 70 percent, poultry meat - from 58 percent to 75 percent.”

Mamin added that the provision with domestic apples increased from 73 percent to 80 percent.

“Sugar production increased from 31.1 percent to 60 percent while the fish breeding volume increased by 4,000 tons, increasing by 30 percent for the year,” the prime minister said.

“It is important not to slow down the current pace and ensure the timely implementation of the planned projects of the current and further years,” Mamin said.

The prime minister stressed that it is necessary to increase the production volume of processed agricultural products by stimulating the cluster development of production, uniting small producers into agricultural cooperatives.

“The implementation of these projects is primarily aimed at ensuring the country's food security,” the prime minister said. “In general, it is required to remove import dependence on all main food products until late 2023.”

“When the domestic market is full, it is important to increase the export volumes by expanding the number of countries to which the products are supplied and types of products,” Mamin said.

The prime minister added that it is necessary to provide access to the storage and logistics infrastructure, having the main share in the cost of goods.

“Taking into account the growing demand for food products in the world market, Kazakhstan has a real opportunity to become one of the world food hubs,” Mamin said.
