BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Within the framework of the 18th Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum, 17 documents have been signed between Moscow and Astana with a total worth around 23.3 billion Kazakh tenge ($50 million), Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
Of these, 7 agreements are interregional, while 10 are commercial.
Interregional agreements are comprehensive and aim to foster positive trade and social, cultural, and scientific exchange between various regions of Kazakhstan and Russia.
Among the commercial agreements, the most noteworthy is the agreement between Kazakhstan’s "Kedentransservice" and Russian "Silk Way Logistics" Ltd, which aimed to bolster the transport cooperation between the countries.
Russia remains a very important trade partner for Kazakhstan. Recent reports indicate that Kazakhstan acquired $5.9 billion from exports to Russia, while $12.4 billion worth of goods and services moved in the opposite direction. These figures constitute 9.3 percent of total Kazakh exports and 36 percent of imports.
