Kazakhstan eyes oil output increase in 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Kazakhstan expects to boost the total oil production to more than 90 million tons in 2023, Bulat Aqchulaqov, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, said on the sidelines of the extended meeting of the Government chaired by the president, Trend reports citing Kazakh media outlets.

According to Aqchulaqov, should the plan be met, 2023 oil exports may reach 70 million tons.

The minister added that no repairs are expected to be carried out in the following year, thus it would be possible to hit the target in the coming year.

He said that due to the unplanned stoppages at the Kashagan oilfield, the output of oil in the country is expected to be around 84-85 million tons, a decrease of 0.7 million tons compared to previous estimates.
