Tehran to host 1st meeting of Kazakhstan-Iranian Working Group on Agriculture in 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Iranian Working Group on Agriculture is scheduled in Tehran this year, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said during his meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, Trend reports via the PM's office.

At the meeting, the Kazakh PM noted that the issue of the development of Kazakhstan-Iran relations continues to occupy a special place in the agenda of Kazakhstan.

"Currently, the governments of the two countries are actively working on the practical implementation of the tasks set at the highest level. I am confident that this year will be marked by new high results of our cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats," he said.

In this regard, he noted the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Iranian Working Group on Agriculture that is scheduled in Tehran this year. The PM said that this meeting will give an additional impetus to the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture.

Additionally, according to Smailov, in order to strengthen work in the trade direction, it was decided to appoint a special trade representative to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Iran.

The expansion of trade and economics, investments, and cross-border cooperation, as well as the implementation of cooperative initiatives in the cultural and humanitarian directions, were other topical issues discussed by the parties.
