Kazakhstan, Siemens collaborate on localization of energy equipment production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Kazakhstan and Germany signed an agreement on the localization of medium-voltage distribution devices for Kazakhstan's energy sector based on Siemens' technology, Trend reports.

The agreement was signed following an expanded meeting between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Additionally, during the expanded meeting, the sides discussed perspectives of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport as well as green hydrogen. Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed including the above-mentioned agreement with Siemens.

Meanwhile, Germany's President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is currently on a visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of the country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. His visit will last until June 21. As part of his visit, Frank-Walter Steinmeier will participate in the opening of the Kazakhstan-Germany Engineering Institute and the launch ceremony of test drilling at the plant for the production of green hydrogen by the Swedish-German Svevind Energy company.
