ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 25. The most powerful edible oil extraction plant in Kazakhstan is being built in the North Kazakhstan region, Trend reports.
The head of the region, Gauez Nurmukhambetov, got acquainted with the progress of construction. The plant is being built in the Petropavlovsk district of the region.
Approximately $48.1 million, equivalent to 23 billion tenge, have been invested in the project, which is being carried out by the MasloDel company.
After the plant is put into operation, it will employ over 200 people.
"The plant is focused on high quality. For this purpose, modern equipment from Belgium, Germany and Türkiye is installed," Nurmukhambetov said.
As he noted, the processing capacity of sunflower oilseeds, rapeseed and flaxseed will be 370,000 tons per year, oilcake and grist will also be received.
Unrefined oil production in Kazakhstan exceeded 417,000 tons per season (from September 2022 through August 2023), which is 50 percent more than for the 2021–2022 season (279,000 tons).
Production of refined oil during the same period increased by 4.1 percent, to 145,300 tons. Imports of bottled sunflower oil decreased: from September 2022 through July 2023, imports amounted to 35,200 tons, a decrease of 15 percent.
