The U.S. Department of Defense named three airmen died in the crash of a KC-135 Stratotanker in Chui region of Kyrgyzstan, U.S. Department of Defense's website reported.

According to the website, the airmen were assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The airmen killed in the crash were Capt. Mark T. Voss, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, 27, of Palmdale, Calif., and Tech Sgt. Herman Mackey III, 30, of Bakersfield, Calif.

It should be recalled that the American tanker aircraft KC-135 Stratotanker from the Transit Center "Manas" crashed in a mountainous area at 14.55 on May 3 near the villages Chorgolu and Cholok-Aryk in the Panfilov district of the Chui region. Presumably, some 60-70 tons of jet fuel were on board the crashed plane. The bodies of two dead pilots were found at the crash site on Saturday morning.
