BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 28. Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev and Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov signed 4 agreements related to the development of the energy sector of the two countries, Trend reports via Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy.

According to the information, an agreement on the expansion of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation in the coal industry is among the signed documents.

"The main goal of the agreement is to implement joint projects for development of coal mines in Kyrgyzstan, including management of coal export from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, which will provide coal mining equipment to Kyrgyzstan. In addition, a coal quality analysis laboratory will be established," the ministry said.

Within the framework of signed documents, the ministries will also cooperate in the field of gas and oil, on organizing the assembly of electrical measuring instruments in Kyrgyzstan. In addition, a memorandum on the joint study of the possibilities of implementing the construction of the Chatkal HPP cascade in Kyrgyzstan was signed.

Ibraev emphasized that the agreements signed will contribute to the development of the energy sector of both countries.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan concluded a package of more than 50 documents worth about $1.6 billion during the Uzbek-Kyrgyz summit at the highest level in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek, on January 26. The signed package of documents will allow both countries to expand multifaceted cooperation in the fields such as chemical, and electrical engineering, machinery production, textile, agriculture, production of construction materials, as well as leather industry
