BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. The value of mineral extraction in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 3.7 billion soms ($42.7 million) in January 2023, which is an increase of 26 percent compared to the same month of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The value of mineral extraction in Kyrgyzstan in January 2022 made up 2.9 billion soms ($33 million).

Notably, the largest share of the extracted minerals during the reporting period falls on the mining of mineral ores – 2.4 billion soms ($28 million), increasing from January 2022 by 37 percent.

At the same time, the value of extraction of crude oil and natural gas amounted to 741 million soms ($8 million) in January 2023, decreasing by 7 percent compared to the first month of 2022.

The value of extraction of coal and brown coal (lignite) made 434 million soms ($4.9 million) in January 2023 and increased by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

Meanwhile, the value of the extraction of other minerals comprised 49 million soms ($563,418) in the reporting period and rose by 12 percent over the same period of 2022.

In total, the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 26.7 billion soms ($307 million) in January 2023, which is an increase of 7 percent over the same period of 2022.
