BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. A total of 19 new green energy power plants are planned to be constructed in Kyrgyzstan in 2023, Mirgul Askarova, head of the RES Department of the Ministry of Energy, said during the International Conference on Sustainable Energy in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports via Kyrgyz media.
The plan includes construction of small hydroelectric power plants, wind farms and solar power plants with a total capacity of over 239 megawatt-hours.
Among the planned objects are:
Bala-Saruu hydroelectric power plant (HPP) with a capacity of 25 MWh,
Leilek HPP with a capacity of 6 MWh,
Kyshtut HPP with a capacity of 1 MWh,
Kogart HPP with a capacity of 7 MWh,
Issyk-Ata HPP with a capacity of 4 MWh,
Kyynama-1 HPP with a capacity of 9.6 MWh,
Isfayram-1 HPP with a capacity of 4 MWh,
Ala-Bashskaya HPP 1 with a capacity of 4.5 MWh,
Aksy HPP with a capacity of 2.6 MWh,
Tostu HPP with a capacity of 1 MWh,
Beles HPP with a capacity of 0.54 MWh,
Aigyr Jal HPP with a capacity of 2.4 MWh,
Metrum wind power plant with a capacity of 10 MWh,
Kun-Bulagy solar power plant with a capacity of 50 MWh,
Bishkek solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MWh and others.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan generated 4.6 billion kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity from January through March 2023, which is 13 percent more than 4.1 billion kWh in the same period of 2022.
