BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 3. Kyrgyzstan will build a large cigarette factory worth $12 million in the Chuy region, Trend reports.
According to an official source, as part of the construction of the factory at the Issyk-Kul 2023 International Economic Forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the One Belt, One Road Tobacco Industry Corporation LLC and the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan.
At the moment, the company plans to order equipment from China and has already issued a patent.
Furthermore, the products manufactured by the factory will continue to focus on exports to EAEU countries.
The tobacco sector of Kyrgyzstan is considered one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. Tobacco cultivation and manufacturing play a significant role in employment and domestic production.
At the moment, the country's enterprises are engaged in both the cultivation of raw materials (tobacco) and the manufacturing of various tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, and smoking pipes.
