BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, 26 August. Kyrgyzstan will implement temporary state regulation of coal prices, starting from September 15, 2024, for a period of 90 days, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

This measure aims to control the rising prices and ensure coal remains accessible to the population.

The State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision will oversee the enforcement of these regulations. Additionally, a draft resolution is under consideration to ban coal exports on road, with exceptions for the Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhny and Torugart-Avtodorozhny checkpoints.

If adopted, the resolution will come into force on September 20, 2024, to curb supply issues.
