Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a federal law on the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Tajikistan. This is the agreement on cooperation for the safe disposal of waste products and solid propellants containing beryllium, RIA Novosti reported.
The relevant document is available in the division of the federal regulatory and administrative acts today. It was adopted by the State Duma on June 20 and approved by the Federation Council on June 27, 2012.
The matter rests in the products and wastes of fuel accumulated in the storage of the enterprise Dawn of the East plant in Tajikistan.
It is assumed that the work will be conducted in two phases. The first is the development of technical proposals for the disposal, the second stage is the utilisation of products and wastes of fuel, including the elimination of technical documentation related to their production.
The costs for the agreement implementation will be financed through the federal budget.
Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Mikhail Margelov said earlier that it should be taken into account that disposal methods developed during the agreement implementation can be used in Russia without using expensive equipment.
