Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has ordered to consider establishing another institution of higher education in Ashgabat. The lessons will be conducted in English, the national TV channel Turkmenistan reported today.
It is planned to train highly qualified specialists in different professions. Their level will meet international standards.
The faculties of international economics, international law and management will be represented at the university.
"It is planned to examine the educational process at the university, given that the lessons will be conducted on a fee basis," the Turkmen president said.
The educational process must meet the educational standards and curricula of universities that train bachelors (specialists with higher education) and Masters (specialists with higher education, with special training in a particular direction).
According to the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan, the new university will be located in a building constructed in accordance with international standards.
Turkmen media earlier reported that the Turkmen Ministry of Education is negotiating to open a branch of the Columbia University (USA) in the country. It was not reported about the stage of promoting the initiative.
A branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas has been operating in Ashgabat since 2009.
