BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. The number of bank cards issued in Turkmenistan as of April 1, 2022, amounted to 4.82 million, which is 1.1 percent more compared to January (4.77 million), Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
According to the bank, the largest number of cards was issued in the capital of the country - the city of Ashgabat (1.68 million cards). It is followed by Mary (854,500 cards) and Lebap regions (781,400 cards).
Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank issued the most cards - 1.7 million, followed by the State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan (959,800 cards) and the Turkmenbashi Joint Stock Commercial Bank (522,500 cards).
Over the past four years, the number of cards issued in Turkmenistan has doubled.
