BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Entrepreneurs from Afghanistan purchased technical sulfur from Turkmen production during trading on March 3 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

Businessmen from Afghanistan purchased 5,000 tons of granular technical sulfur on the exchange at a price of $45 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $255,000.

At the same time, according to the exchange, on March 3, entrepreneurs from Afghanistan purchased 10,000 tons of portland cement in the amount of $360,000.

Technical sulfur is used for the production of sulfuric acid, carbon disulfide, and dyes, in pulp and paper, textile, and other industries and is used for export in the process of vulcanization of rubber.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
