ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 31. The 'Ak Pamyk' enterprise located in Turkmenabat city manufactured 1,636 tons of cotton from January through July of this year, Trend reports.
According to official data, during the specified period, the enterprise manufactured products worth 4.45 million Turkmen manats ($1.27 million) while fulfilling the semi-annual plan.
Of the total volume of production, 151 tons of cotton are intended for use in medicine, and the remaining 1,485 tons are for other purposes.
A noteworthy aspect of the 'Ak Pamyk' enterprise's operations is its sustainable approach to manufacturing. It utilizes waste fibers from the country's yarn spinning factory as its main raw material.
The cotton industry is one of the key sectors of Turkmenistan's economy and has a long history in the country. Turkmenistan is known for its extensive cotton plantations and high-quality cotton, which makes this industry an important source of income and employment for the population.
