(KAZINFORM) - Work on the draft association agreement of Turkmenistan in the Commonwealth of Independent States will be continued in August 2006 at the next sitting of CIS member states experts; Kazinform refers to press service of CIS Executive Committee.
According to the draft agreement, Turkmenistan as an associated member will be able to participate in distinct measures of CIS, to sign resolutions connected with issues representing interest for this country. It is possible for the state to participate in the activity of all state bodies without a right to vote, reports Trend.
Besides, Turkmenistan will finance only those programs and agencies of CIS that are directly involved into mechanism of realization of documents concluded with participation of the country.
Status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan is acknowledged and supported by the resolution of the UN General Assembly Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan as of December 12, 1995.
