Mir Hussein Mousavi does not recognize Ahmadinejad's government because of rigged and unfair presidential elections, said Mousavi's wife, a former candidate in Iran's last presidential elections.
"We will be in opposition to Ahmadinejad's government until then, unless the violated rights of the people are restpred," Zahra Mousavi Rahnavard said in an interview to the Rooz online newspaper Jan. 25.
After the June 12 presidential elections in Iran, the opposition announced that the voting results were rigged. Reformist candidates, Mir Hussein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, have reported extensive fraud in the elections.
Hundreds of political activists have been arrested and dozens of civilians killed.
Jan.25, Hussein Karroubi said that he officially recognizes Ahmadinejad's government.
"I believe in some intervention in the election results. However, as Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamnei recognizes Ahmadinejad as president, I also recognize him as the president," Karroubi said.
