An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale took place near the Iranian Nalus city in the West Azerbaijan province at 22:05 last night, FARS reported

No one died or injured as a result the quake.

Earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale took place in the Iranian province of Khorasan - Rezavi near Turbati-Haidari last week. More than 170 people were injured.

Earthquakes often take place in Iran. The most powerful earthquake occurred in December 2003 in the city of Bam, located in the south-east province of Kirman. The earthquake claimed the lives of 31,000 people. The ancient fortress, built of clay, was destroyed.
