Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani held phone talks with his Syrian counterpart Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, IRIB News reported.
During the talks, Larijani noted that both Syrian people and country's government managed to defend themselves from outside enemies and terrorist groups in the country, and the situation in the country is changing for the better.
Iranian speaker said that in order to help Syria solve the existing problems, Iran is carring out necessary negotiations with Iraqi and Turkish parliamentary speakers.
Larijani went on to say that Iran is always on Syria's side and underscored that the Islamic Republic supports peaceful, diplomatic resolution of Syria's issue, as military solution is not an option.
Syrian speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham thanked Iran for its continuous support.
