The name of the new Iranian ambassador to Russia has been unveiled, Mehr news agency reported on Nov. 27
Mehdi Sanai who replaces Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi resigned from his post as MP on Nov. 27.
Sanai served as head of the Iran-Russia parliamentary Friendship Committee. Earlier, he served as cultural attaché at the Embassy of Iran in Kazakhstan (1995 - 1998) and Russia (1999 - 2003).
He was also head of the Institute of Culture of the ECO Regional Organisation from 2005 to 2006.
