(IRNA) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Thursday told reporters that Iran has a transparent peaceful nuclear program, under NPT agreement and has beem most cooperative with IAEA.

He said during many years of inspection, no sign of any diversion of Iranian nuclear program has ever been seen in the agency's numerous reports in this regard, reports Trend.

Ahmadnejad said the US is not against atomic bomb since it supports certain countries in the region which are armed with nuclear weapons, adding that the US follows a double-standard policy toward other countries and feels concern about Iran's development.

He also said some countries consider themselves as the world community while almost all members of the non-aligned movement support Iran.

Speaking to some 200 journalists, the Iranian president remarked, "It is not written in the NPT agreement that we should win the US trust for gaining our inalienable rights, a country which is pursuing projects for making second and third generations of atomic bombs and threatens others with such bombs."

He also said that Iran pursues a transparent policy in its nuclear activities, adding that those willing to misuse this energy are interested in carrying out clandestine atomic projects.
