Rice urges Kurds to work for unified Iraq

(IHLAS) - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived Friday in Arbil, the main city in Iraq's Kurdistan, met with the regional president Massoud Barzani urging Kurds to cooperate with Iraqi Arabs in building a peaceful and unified country on the second day of her surprise visit to Iraq, reports Trend.

Rice and her delegation were greeted by the regional prime minister Nachirvan Barzani at the Arbil International Airport. Rice went straight to the Kurdish Parliament and held talks with Kurdish regional leader Mashoud Barzani ad his vice Kosret Rasul as well as Noshirwan Mustapha, the Secretary-General of Kurdistan Patriotic Union (KPU) and Fadhil Mirani, Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Rice and Barzani met with international and local reporters for a joint press conference.
