Iran’s oil and gas reserves at 158 bln barrels, 33.5 trillion cm

Iran’s extractable oil reserves stood at 158.4 billion barrels and can produce oil for 125 years. The gas reserves also stood at 33.44 trillion cubic meters in the fiscal year to March 2015, the Oil Ministry reported.

Iran added about 200 bcm of gas and 2.290 billion barrels of in-situ oil to its reserves.

The 556-page report says that Iran produced 248.84 bcm of raw gas in the mentioned fiscal year, which indicates an increase by 7.4 percent year-to-year. About 83 percent of this volume was used as feedstock in refineries and the remined volume was flared (10 bcm), re-injected to oil reserves (27 bcm), etc.

During last fiscal year, Iran also produced 255 bcm of raw gas.
