Only 50% of Iranian ports active in loading/unloading of oil products

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has loaded and unloaded more than 3.874 million tons of oil products at its ports across the country over the last Iranian calendar month (Jan. 20-Feb. 20, 2018).

The figure stood at 3.624 million tons over the preceding calendar month (Dec. 20, 2017-Jan. 20, 2018).

The oil product loading/unloading in Iranian ports has increased by 11.5 percent in last Iranian calendar month compared to 3.473 million tons of oil products loaded/unloaded in the same month of the preceding year, according to the latest data available on the PMO website.

According to the report, 10 ports out of POM’s 20 ports, including Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Chabahar, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Fereydunkenar, Qeshm and Lengeh were involved in oil product loading/unloading during the period.

The data indicates that 1.771 million tons of oil products were unloaded at Iranian ports, 14.1 percent less year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 2.103 million tons of oil products were loaded in the ports, which was 49.1 percent more compared to the one-month period of the preceding year.

In general, over 44.8 million tons of oil products have been loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2017), indicating a 3-percent increase year-on-year.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 13.903 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between Jan. 20 to Feb. 20, 4.5 percent more year-on-year.

In total, over 144 million tons of various goods have been loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the current fiscal year.

The volume is 6.7 percent more than the loaded/unloaded products in the same period of preceding year (March 20, 2016-March 21, 2017).
