The Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refining Company in Iran’s Markazi province has produced more than 16 million liters of gasoline and 12 million liters of diesel fuel that meet Euro 4 standards, Alireza Amin, the managing director of the refinery, said at a meeting dedicated to reduction of the environmental pollution in the province, a source in the company told Trend.
He said that the refinery uses 250,000 barrels of fuel per day.
He added that the company has implemented one project related to the development of its production.
“As a result of the project, the environmental pollution was reduced, the quality of the company’s products improved, and the treatment and disposal of sulfur and heavy metals was carried out,” he said.
He noted that the sale of 5,000 tons of oil waste from utilization pools is also among the measures to decrease the environmental pollution.
Iran’s Shazand Oil Refinery was launched in 1993, and it was processing 150,000 barrels of oil per day. In 2003, the refinery’s daily capacity was increased to 250,000 barrels.
