TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.24
Trend:
Gas consumption by Iranian households, industrial sectors has increased by 22 percent compared to the previous year, Oil Minister Javad Owji said, Trend reports citing ILNA.
The gas consumption of households as well as the industrial sector has reached 517 million cubic meters on November 23 - a 22 percent increase compared to the same period of the last Iranian year(started March 20, 2020), Owji noted.
Following the rise of consumption, the ministry urged the cement sector in the country to slow down on gas consumption. Meanwhile, the liquid fuel compensates for the gas shortage in the cement and petrochemical industries.
Iran's government has chosen liquid fuel as an alternative for gas consumption for power plants and industries as it encourages households to reduce their consumption during cold winter months.
