Iran, Azerbaijan to create joint commission to develop deposits in Caspian Sea

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Iran has reached an agreement to set up a joint commission with Azerbaijan to develop some deposits in the Caspian Sea, Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji said, Trend reports.

According to him, joint development, extraction and export of energy carriers meet the interests of both states. Iranian and Azerbaijani companies have extensive experience in this area.

"The fact that both countries are rich in oil and gas resources makes for the development of cooperation. Iran is interested in developing ties with its closest neighbors. Azerbaijan is also our closest neighbor and friendly state. Both countries have great potential, and the use of this potential is a must", minister said.
