Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr.14

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran and the P5+1 group will start drafting a comprehensive nuclear accord on April 21, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

"We are very close to an agreement. But, two things are of importance. One is the writing of the text of the agreement, and the other is changing the mentality of the other side about sanctions," Zarif said in Spain in an address to Spanish officials, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on April 14.

"We see nuclear weapons harmful for our security and have declared this many times."

"We use logic in reaching an agreement. We believe in our peaceful program. We believe that we have the right to follow a peaceful nuclear program," he stated.

"My colleagues, Mogherini, and other P5+1 officials will gather on Tuesday (April 21) to start drafting of an accord," Zarif said.

The latest talks by Iran and the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) ended in a framework agreement on April 2.

Zarif and European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who also attended the talks, read a final statement at the end of the 8-day talks which clarified the objectives of a final deal which is to be reached by July 1.
