Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said that in his second meeting with US Energy Secretary Earnest Moniz, the two have reached agreement on technical terms on 90 percent of the expert issues.
Only one point of disagreement, and that a very important one, remains which we will try to resolve in today's evening talks, he said, Iran 's IRIB news agency reported March 17.
A high-ranking US official also said that Iran and the US have made great advancement on expert issues, adding difficulties yet remain, which need to be resolved.
Iran and the US, along with the UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany forming the group 5+1, are in intense talks over Tehran's nuclear program.
The talks are already underway in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The sides have decided to reach a political understanding by the end of March, and a comprehensive deal by July 1.
The US and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon, something that Iran denies.
