Iran's Deputy Defense Minister Amir Hatami said the country's output of military products would increase four times by the end of the next Iranian calendar year (March 2017), Fars news agency reported June 9.
He said the Iranian armed forces cooperate with 70 science-based companies around the country on producing arms and equipment.
"In the recent military exhibition 1,000 products were put on show. We are not happy with this and we should try to reach the desired point," he stated.
He further said the production of destroyers Mowj I, II, III, and IV will boost Iran 's abilities in communications and logistics.
" Iran 's growing military power has no message but peace for neighbors," he stressed.
Under international pressure, Iran has tapped domestic talents to develop its military power.
However, Tehran says its military might serves only as deterrence, witnessed by lack of any attack on another country on record since the Islamic revolution in 1979.
