Anyone who recognizes the “future threats” against Iran’s security will be awarded a cash prize, an army commander has said.

Iranian Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi said that anyone or any member of the army as well as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), who recognizes the “future threats” against the country, will receive over $6,000 (200 million rials) in cash, Tasnim news agency reported Nov. 21.

Salehi added that the prize winner must say the time and premises that the threat can take place.

Saying that the “Islamic State” (IS, ISIS, ISIL, Daesh) terrorist group will be eliminated in near future, he added that the enemy, however, will make efforts to pose new threats.

“Therefore, the army will award prize for anyone who recognizes the threats,” the commander stated.

He made the remarks this morning at a ceremony introducing Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan as deputy general commander of Army.

In the meantime, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called on the army to improve its capabilities in gathering intelligence about the enemy’s plans.

The supreme leader on Nov. 19 appointed Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan as the deputy general commander of Army and Brigadier General Kiumars Heydari as commander of the Army's Ground Forces.
