Iran's export of handicrafts increase

TEHRAN, Iran, June 12

Iran's export of handicrafts during the last Iranian year (started March 20,2020) has increased, however it was 0.14 percent of the country's total non-oil export, Trend reports citing Iran's Customs.

According to the statistics, Iran exported $126 million worth of handicraft products.

A total of 11,000 tons of handicraft products have been exported in 2020. About 5,726 tons of handicraft commodities valued at $79 million accounted for carpets, which was a 22-percent increase compared to 2019, as well as one percent decline in value.

The share of handicraft export in Iran's non-oil export was 0.24 percent in 2019.

About 4,000 tons of handmade carpet valued $68 million in the last Iranian year (started March 20,2020), which was a 2-percent increase of volume and 4-percent increase of value, compared to 2019.

Germany, the UAE, Japan, Pakistan and Australia were the top five customers of Iranian handmade carpets.
