Iran's IRICA discloses data on import of COVID-19 vaccines

In general, 158,056,808 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been imported to Iran from February 3, 2021 through March 14, 2022, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, 1,413,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were imported to the country on March 13, donated by Germany to Iran.

“Meanwhile, 777,900 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by Germany will be delivered to Iran on March 14,” he added.

The spokesman noted that thus, the total number of ‘AstraZeneca’ vaccines imported to Iran for the reporting period amounted to 18,836,110 doses.

In addition, Iran has so far imported a total of 134,004,498 doses of 'Sinofarm', 4,091,200 doses of 'Sputnik V', and 1,125,000 doses of 'Bharat' vaccines.

Latifi also said that given the vaccination of the majority of Iranian citizens, as well as the production of local vaccines in the country, Iran has suspended the purchase of coronavirus vaccines.

"The vaccines imported to the country in recent months are mainly donated by various countries," he pointed out.
