Georgia, Tbilisi / corr. Trend N. Kirtskhalia/ NATO will take a decision as a basis for a consensus about Georgia -working with a number of problem countries who doubt the advisability of granting Georgia the program of International Development Association (IDA). Batu Kuteliya, the deputy defense minister of Georgia said on 12 March.
According to the minister, position of Germany, which is against the granting of IDA to Georgia, will not be of any decisive importance. "We are sure that Georgia will be able to get the support of a number of NATO members in Bucharest summit, which will support the granting of program of IDA to Georgia, which is critical for the adoption of a positive decision," the Minister said.
"We are continuing our talks and hope that we can achieve progress regarding this issue within 2-3 weeks, before the beginning of summit," the deputy defense minister of Georgia said. A day before, the US congress supported the granting of IDA program to Georgia. American congressmen believe that Georgia is prepared to enter NATO as well.
