Georgian parliament discusses situation of Azerbaijan Georgians

On Oct. 22, the Parliament of Georgia held a hearing on the situation of Georgian-Ingiloys densely residing in the Gakh district of Azerbaijan. At the meeting of the parliamentary committee on relations with compatriots, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Monument Protection Mako Chogoshvili talked about the problems of the Azerbaijani Georgians.

On Oct. 22, the Parliament of Georgia held a hearing on the situation of Georgian-Ingiloys densely residing in the Gakh district of Azerbaijan. At the meeting of the parliamentary committee on relations with compatriots, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Monument Protection Mako Chogoshvili talked about the problems of the Azerbaijani Georgians.

Committee meeting was closed to journalists, which is very rare for the Parliament of Georgia.
As explained to the media representatives, the committee meeting was held behind closed doors due to consideration of "sensitive issues".

Prior to the meeting, the committee chairman Nugzar Tsiklauri said that one of the main issues to be discussed is to restore Georgian house of culture, which recently burned down.
